Willow's Last Surgery is the story of Willow West and her journey with hydrocephalus. She just finished her 17th surgery and in the most childlike way possible explains what hydrocephalus is, and how it shouldn't be something to be afraid of or a reason to not be her friend. She wrote this book to help her friends understand what it is, and why she has to have surgery. She hopes this book will also help other children understand about their friends who have hydrocephalus. Willow is a student at Congress Elementary School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has three brothers, one sister, a mom, dad and no pets. She enjoys gymnastics and loves school, especially recess. She also loves to act crazy! Willow was born with hydrocephalus, and to date, has had 17 brain surgeries all related to her hydrocephalus. Willow is doing very well in her life currently and likes to call herself a 'bottle of sunshine'.
