Shortly after missionary surgeon Dr. Robert Bowers and his wife Marion were informed it would take a year to get the necessary government documents to go to Bangladesh, a message came from their son, Peter, of an urgent need for a third grade teacher at a missionary children’ school in Albania. With a Masters degree in elementary education and twenty years of teaching experience, Marion was eminently qualified to fill this need so off they went to Albania for a year. Dr. Bob in letters home tells of Marion’s teaching trials and triumphs teaching children from eight different nationalities, and also describes unique cultural observations, ministry opportunities, and his medical experiences helping in a local clinic. Most delightful was the joy of living in the apartment above three of their grandchildren.
