Beginning in 149 BC about 50 years prior to Julius Caesar, A young 12-year-old girl named Pris aspires to become a warrior and protector of her Cimbrian-Germanic tribe. Her aspirations lead her to an undesired journey when she is taken and kidnapped by a rival Germanic tribe. Torn from her family, now a slave, Pris is traded to a Roman buyer. Thrown into a dysfunctional family in Rome, Pris tries to make the best of her situation. She survives under an abusive master Cyprian. He is also an abusive father, who blames his youngest son, a gay man, for the death of his wife from childbirth. As Pris grows up a slave, she is thrown into the social and political chaos that was pushing the Roman Republic towards internal struggles. Through it all, Pris battles through her fears, desires and misbeliefs in challenging times surviving through the dangers of Rome as a slave. Into this story is a cast of heroes and villains who are all pitted against each other for their own ends. All comes to a clash which forces Pris to escape, journey home and gain her freedom as she returns to her homeland at great cost. Following Wolf & Eagle, Roman Sancturary continues the tale.
