How to get a job and make a living in the art industry, from rising art world star Alexandra Steinacker-Clark, creator of the  All About Art  podcast. One of the biggest misconceptions about the art industry is that unless you already have wealth and contacts, you have no chance of breaking into this apparently exclusive world. Alexandra Steinacker-Clark has spent her career pushing back against this idea, and demystifying the art world for those coming in from any background. In 2021, she began the podcast  All About Art  as a way to meet other professionals working in the sector, to find out what they actually do and discover how they got there. She interviewed artists, gallerists, curators, journalists, critics, auctioneers and many others, exploring a vast array of creative careers beyond the obvious options, and along the way creating a guide to demystifying the art world from the inside. This book brings together all the invaluable wisdom and guidance from those interviews, and provides practical professional advice and support not only for students or recent graduates, but for anyone at any stage of life wishing to work in the arts. An essential read for anyone looking to make a career in the art industry. Includes interviews with: Grazina Subelyte, curator of the Peggy Guggenheim collection, Venice Thaddaeus Ropac, gallerist and founder of Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac Francesca Gavin, editor in chief of  Epoch Review Alayo Akinkugbe, art historian and creator of @ablackhistoryofart Elsy Lahner, curator for contemporary art at the Albertina Museum, Vienna And many others. Alexandra Steinacker-Clark is an American-Austrian art historian, curator, writer and podcaster living and working in London. Alexandra is the founder and host of the  All About Art  Podcast which, according to Spotify Wrapped 2022, was within the top 10% of most followed and most shared podcasts worldwide and it remains within the top 10% today. She is also the co-director of NXT GEN: AWITA x All About Art, a program designed to support early career arts professionals, a TEDx speaker, and serves on the Board of SALOON Network. Alexandra has a BA in History of Art from University College London and an MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths University. She has previously worked as Gallery and Exhibitions Manager at Galerie Max Hetzler in London along with past positions at Skarstedt Gallery, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, Shezad Dawood Studio, Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, and Sotheby's Auction House.
