The World Bank Atlas has always been provided with easy-to-read world maps, tables, and graphs highlighting key social, economic, and environmental data for 209 economies. This year's Atlas has been updated and improved with new material to better parallel World Development Indicators 1998 (WDI) . Development themes featured in previous edition -- The People, The Economy, The Environment, and States and Markets -- can still be found in this year's Atlas . This 30th edition adds two new sections, Global Links and World View . Global Links , complete with a table, maps, and charts, matches the last section of WDI . The front section of the Atlas contains texts and charts on the World View, which WDI also covers in tables, charts, and text.
