It resonated with me so much at the time, that it set me on a path to joining this elite group of individuals who simply do not settle for the status quo. I'm proud to say that four and a half years ago, I joined the ranks of the favored few, and I'd like to help you to do the same. You see, when I graduated from college in 1996, I stepped out into the real world totally excited about my future. However, there was one small problem. I had no clue about how I was going to make a living, much less what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.At the same time, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the rest of my life; I just didn't know how to make it happen at that point. As a result, like so many people do at that stage in life, I put my dream on the shelf, vowing that someday I'd return to take it back down and fulfill it. As a result, I spent the next six years of my life hopping around nine different jobs. Finally, after those brutal first six years, I landed a job that paid the bills and allowed me to think about my future. I ultimately came to realize that the thing I wanted most from my life was that thing I had placed on the shelf years prior. I wanted nothing more than to be a professional speaker. Still one problem; I didn't know how to do that.
