Yellowstone's rare herd of wild mountain bison are being slaughtered into extinction by a coalition of government agencies and tribal groups called the Interagency Bison Management Plan. Members include the National Park Service and the Montana Department of Livestock. This book is the first volume of a two volume petition before the Department of the Interior, submitted in 2018 to protect the wild herd from extinction under provisions of the Endangered Species Act. It is now under evaluation by the Fish and Wildlife Service.
