ZOMBIE ORIGINS: 1861 - THE CIVIL WAR Vinegar Bend, Mississippi - 1861: The Civil War, a name read in schoolbooks to describe the war that took place long ago. According to Kirby Lann, a name used for the coverup of the war on zombies that saved the nation and possibly the world. It's 1931 and Kirby tells his grandson a tale of how he and two friends, Slim and John, survived the war…and how they saved a few thousand lives in the process. In order to do this, they would need the help of the Confederacy and the Union. They might also need assistance from former slaves; that is, if they decide to help the nation they were once enslaved to. Is the old man telling a tall tale? Is there any proof of his story? Only time will tell. Based on his story, no one is safe from the zombies, not even the President. Author’s note: The following is the first novel I ever wrote in two thousand and twelve. It was released under the name NZAMBI. I’ve always been a fan of zombie movies, especially those that involve the first outbreaks when humans have to try to contain and survive the attack. There are two zombie movies in particular I enjoyed when I was younger, so I wanted to write some zombie stories of my own. This is an historical fictional zombie story that I reworked about the Civil War. After learning more about writing over the years, I decided to revisit this story and try to improve on it and make it into somewhat of a series. I hope the changes I made worked and we’ll see where it goes.
