Several modes are available for accurate calculations of the velocities and accelerations of a variety of objects, including interval modes for the blocking of one or two photogates; memory function for recording values; period mode for studying oscillatory systems; frequency mode optimized for use with short objects oscillating rapidly; count mode for how many times an object crosses through a gate; and stopwatch mode INCLUDES 2 PHOTOGATES

When both photogates are connected to the timer, interval mode continues to display the time it takes an object to cross through the gate, labeling the times by gate A or B.
