For years I’ve studied human behavior, spiritual being, religions of all sorts, the scientific workings of the mind, matters of the heart - lived out, trauma, and most recently the healing of the body to use the mind as a portal to access the highest truth of my experiences. This journal was birthed during one of the densest and deeply transitional years of my life. Arriving at my highest truth day-to-day while navigating such a mysterious time was not also in arm’s reach. During the middle of the global pandemic, I found myself stuck between the monotony, messy, mundane and mysterious experience of abruptly working from home while also being the teacher of my teenage daughter and school being at home as well. Some days I could not identify or even celebrate my day-to-day wins. It all felt like one big thing. As a mental health practitioner, mom of a teenager, and healing guide in community, I did what needed to be done. Grabbed a piece of paper- probably was a napkin and started jotting down every single win. And I’ll be honest— some days my wins looked like taking a shower and other days it looked like successfully navigating zoom, FaceTime with family, putting on a bra for meetings, cooking a meal, juicing, practicing yoga, and chatting with neighbors across the lawn. The more I started to celebrate my wins the more consistent I was with showing up for myself and those around me with ease. So much so that I invited Lauryn, my daughter, to engage in a win journal with me. We graduated from napkins to composition notebooks. There we documented our wins every day . It was a very simple journal of what were grateful for and our wins of the day. I’m pinning this journal at the two-year mark of a global pandemic, and this is my offering + gift to the world . iStay Winning Everyday Journal is also a memorial to commemorate this collective time of trauma and healing we've experienced as a nation, as humans. iStay Winning Everyday Journal: 365 Days of Documenting your Wins is intentionally simple.
